About Our Surgery and Our Policies

Our Practice

At Sherrington Park Medical Practice, all patients are entitled to have a chaperone present at any point during their consultation or examination. Chaperones are provided to support both patients and clinicians, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety, especially during intimate examinations or procedures.
Patients will routinely be offered a chaperone when booking an appointment, but they can also request one at any time. Only trained staff members can act as chaperones, and their role includes offering reassurance, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring appropriate procedures are followed.
Our chaperone policy is clearly displayed in the waiting area, clinical rooms, and on our website for awareness. If a chaperone is unavailable, the examination may be rescheduled if it does not affect the patient’s health. Any discussion about chaperones, including acceptance or refusal, will be documented in the patient’s record.
For more information, please speak to a member of our team.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GP’s working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in the Sherrington Park Medical Practice in the last financial year was £70,910 before tax and national insurance.  This is for 1 full time GP and 1 part time GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.

It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, it should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make a comparison with any other practice.

In view of the fact that there are few hard and fast guidelines in place we must issue a disclaimer against any actions which may or may not be taken with regard to the publication of this information.
All GP practices are required to utilise the GP2GP facility for the transfer of patient Electronic Health Record (EHR) between practices, when a patient registers or de-registers. The facility allows for the records to be transferred faster and more secure than the current paper-based method. Sherrington Park Medical Centre are using this service to transfer records to other practices.
Sherrington Park Medical Practice already operates a personal list and patients are familiar with having a personal GP. The named GP has overall responsibility for the care and support that the surgery provides for them. The named GP will also work with other health and care professionals to ensure that those patients over 75 who are vulnerable and at risk of admission to hospital has a care plan which meets their individual needs.
Patients now have the facility to view online, export and/or print any summary information from their records i.e. medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any additional information agreed between the GP and the patient. Please contact reception for further information.
